Domestic violence in this country is all too common—
the statistics speak for themselves. An estimated 1.3 million women in the U.S. are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year.1 Among these victims, there are 16,800 homicides and $2.2 million (medically treated) injuries due to intimate partner violence annually, which costs $37 billion.2
For 10 years, I had held the ABOUT FACE charity event
to help raise awareness and funds for this silent epidemic and in turn, help rebuild the faces and lives of innocent victims. While each and every year has been a success, we are doing something different again this year. Rather than spending much-needed funds on event production, I’ll be redirecting those dollars to those who need it most-the victims.
Still, I need your help
I urge you to make a donation to the cause via this website, and for each donation made,
I will match the donation dollar for dollar with a donation of my own. All proceeds will benefit FACE TO FACE: The National Domestic Violence Project and The Safe Center LI.
As senior advisor and a volunteer facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon for FACE TO FACE: The National Domestic Violence Project, I am committed to making a difference in the lives of the victims and their families. FACE TO FACE provide pro bono consultations and surgery to domestic violence survivors who have suffered injuries to the face, head and neck.
FACE TO FACE also provides free surgery to children with facial disfigurement
due to birth defect, burns, trauma, facial tumors, and war. Through the program, I have personally met and operated on many of these women and on children throughout the world including Central and South America, and Asia.
Thank you in advance for your support.
