Newsweek just released their America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2021 rankings to recognize the best plastic surgeons in the United States. The report concentrated on four major cosmetic surgery procedures which included: Facelift, Rhinoplasty, Breast Augmentation, and Liposuction.
To get the best results, Newsweek partnered with Statista to determine who ranked where. Nearly 3,000 medical experts including doctors, surgeons, plastic surgery clinic managers & health care professionals, participated in the online survey. The rankings feature the top 150 for Facelift, Rhinoplasty, and Liposuction, and the top 200 plastic surgeons for Breast Augmentation. A strict methodology was used to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking.
Dr. Andrew Jacono was ranked as one of the top five rhinoplasty surgeons in America by Newsweek and in the number one rhinoplasty surgeon in NYC, with over 8000 board-certified plastic surgeons and facial plastic surgeons in America. For well over a decade, Dr. Jacono has been a global authority in the field of facial plastic surgery. That is why this prestigious award comes as no surprise. His natural and flawless results continue to be the main reason he is sought out by his peers and patients alike.
Dr. Jacono performs customizes his rhinoplasties and uses both “closed” and “open” approaches. He has performed thousands of rhinoplasties and incorporates that experience, science, and artistry to create the most natural outcomes. The “closed” approach has all incisions inside the nose, is less traumatic, has no external scarring, and has a quicker recovery. The “open” approach requires a small incision across the base of the nose called the columella and is required when more nasal tip work is required and when there is a greater need for cartilage grafting. Some surgeons only perform all rhinoplasty “open”, and some perform all “closed.” Doctor Jacono performs Rhinoplasty “open” and “closed” and chooses the best approach depending upon the goals of the surgery. Having published countless medical papers on the most cutting-edge rhinoplasty techniques, Dr. Jacono is considered a top expert in his field.
Dr. Jacono also specializes in revision rhinoplasty procedures. He uses the body’s own bone and cartilage to reconstruct his patient’s nose without the need for a synthetic implant. Cartilage grafts are obtained from the nasal septum, eat, or rib. In some cases, he will use cartilage from a tissue bank so that harvest from a donor site is not required, with no additional incisions or recovery. If a collapse of the nasal tip is present, or the nose has become twisted from an aggressive or poorly performed rhinoplasty, a structural cartilage graft may be required.
