Information on the ThermiTight Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Procedure in New York.
ThermiTight is a non-surgical body tightening procedure. Controlled heating to the subdermal tissues tightens loose skin along the neck, breasts, arms, abdomen, thighs, and knees. The procedure is minimally invasive which allows for the patient to be as comfortable as possible during the tightening procedure. This is a great alternative solution to other surgical means of tightening the loose skin of the body.
There are many benefits to the ThermiTight procedure. One such is that we can use it on any number of areas where loose skin is present. Common areas of treatment include the neck, breasts, arms, abdominal area, inner and outer thighs, and the knees.
ThermiTight skin tightening is a safe and effective way to reduce or eliminate the appearance of loose hanging skin. This includes those stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to both diet and exercise. An additional benefit to this non-surgical body contouring procedure is that, similar to some non-invasive facelifts, it carries little to no risk On top of this, many patients only need a single session to see the results they were looking for.
This revolutionary procedure uses radiofrequency energy (RF) to heat the subdermal skin layers, enhancing the natural production of collagen. This increase in collagen production helps to tighten and refresh sagging skin leaving your skin looking more youthful and wrinkle-free. The procedure takes little time to complete, and we perform it under local anesthesia.
After we administer anesthesia, the procedure typically takes about an hour to perform. However, this time depends on the number of treatment areas. This procedure has little to no downtime, so most patients will not need to take time off from work. Many patients only need a single session to see the results they are looking for.
Using energy to heat up the subdermal skin and tissue layers increases the production of collagen. Since it targets the layers beneath the surface of the skin, the results are long-lasting. To begin the procedure, we administer local anesthesia just underneath the skin to numb the treatment area. This will ensure that patients will be comfortable and pain-free during the tightening treatment.
After administering anesthesia, we place a handheld radiofrequency wand (RF probe) just below the skin of the treatment area. The probe will then send out controlled radio-frequency energy to the sub-dermal tissues. This RF energy forces the tissue to become more compact and tightens the targeted loose skin.
Since tissue shrinkage happens during the procedure, patients can immediately see tighter skin. The results will continue to improve over the next 6 to 8 weeks, as collagen production continues to increase.
Most patients experience some initial discomfort. This usually subsides over a small period and is local to the treatment areas. Tylenol, or a mild pain reliever, are effective method for dealing with this discomfort.
Patients typically see results immediately after the procedure, but they will continue to improve over the next month. The results are not permanent but should last for several years for most patients.
The ThermiTight procedure has minimal associated risks, but they can include a reaction to the local anesthesia (very rare). Some swelling and redness may occur for a period of a week or two after the treatment has concluded. This is a simple outpatient treatment, so most patients can return to work and daily activities within 1 to 2 days. Depending on the swelling, we advise patients to take a few extra days to heal.
Both men and women qualify as candidates for this procedure. Generally, those who suffer from and want to treat loose, hanging skin on various areas of their body. With any procedure, it’s important that patients be in good health and have realistic expectations. ThermiTight skin tightening is a great option for those who do not want to undergo surgery to correct the issue.
