For men, they generally strive for a more prominent, powerful nose with very distinctive features. The nasal tip should be less rotated, with the angle between the upper lip and nose being 90 to 95 degrees. Whereas women, tend to desire a petite nose with an upwards-rotated tip.
To determine the best-looking results, Dr. Jacono always uses computer morphing. This helps guide him and allows the patient to better understand their own goals for the procedure.
Differences Between Male Rhinoplasty and Female Rhinoplasty
It is easy to differentiate the overall facial appearances between the sexes. When performing rhinoplasty for males, Dr. Jacono typically aims to chisel the facial features. Meanwhile, he aims for a delicate and heart-shaped face for women.
A masculine nose differs from a feminine one, in that a man’s nose tends to be prominent, with a higher bridge. It is also usually wider in the mid-nose area. Aside from the structure, the skin is also different; it tends to be thicker than that of women. The nose of a female is usually shorter and more defined, with a subtle indentation along the bridge.
There are also other differences in noses for men and women based on their ethnicity. Dr. Jacono will review each case as unique. He will identify the differences and desires of the nasal width, the dorsal hump, and the columellar angle.
